What is Azure ExpressRoute?
Establish private connections to Microsoft cloud services
ExpressRoute lets you extend your on-premises networks to the Microsoft cloud over a private connection facilitated by Teraco. With the help of ExpressRoute, you can establish connections with Microsoft cloud services such as Azure, Office 365, and Dynamics 365.

Connectivity to Microsoft Cloud Services
Connectivity can be from an any-to-any (IP VPN) network, a point-to-point Ethernet network, or a virtual cross-connection through a connectivity provider in Teraco’s facilities. With ExpressRoute, connections do not go over the public internet. This results in more reliability, faster speeds, lower latencies, and higher security than typical connections over the internet.
An ExpressRoute circuit enables access to the following Microsoft services:
- Azure
- Office 365
- Dynamics 365

Key Benefits of ExpressRoute
Use a virtual private cloud for storage, backup and recovery
ExpressRoute provides a fast and reliable connection on the Azure platform with bandwidth up to 100Gbps, which makes it an excellent and cost-effective option for scenarios like periodic data migration, replication for business continuity, disaster recovery, and other high-availability strategies.
Extend and connect your data centres
With high throughput and low latency, ExpressRoute offers a natural extension to or between your data centres. Enjoy the scale and economics of the public cloud without compromising network performance.
Build hybrid applications
Use the predictable, reliable, and high-throughput connections offered by ExpressRoute to build applications that span on-premises infrastructure and Azure without compromising privacy or performance. For example, run a corporate intranet application on the Azure platform that authenticates your customers with an on-premise Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) service, and serve them without routing traffic through the public internet.
