Carriers and Service Providers

Teraco’s Data Centres are located on the fibre rings of the major licensed carriers in SA, all of which have fibre nodes within the building, presented in the Teraco “Carrier Hotel” area. In addition, all major ISPs are available within the building for direct interconnect. The interconnect system is the embodiment of Teraco’s vendor neutrality , allowing free selection of outward links through a choice of major Internet service providers or directly via customers’ preferred carriers with a choice of speeds and media types.

Resilient Physical Interconnect

Teraco’s Physical Interconnect infrastructure allows rapid, scalable and flexibly configured interconnections to multiple carriers and upstream service providers to assist customers in responding to fast changing traffic demands.

There is generous space allowed (more than industry standard) for intra–cabinet wiring from any cabinet to any cabinet within the Data Centre, using a structured cable system that is neat, traceable and scaleable. All Teraco physical interconnects are installed with secondary redundant links. Availability is guaranteed under the Teraco Service Level Agreement.

Open Market for Business Partners

Teraco is home to major ISPs and telcos within the carrier hotel area, as well as to other leading technology providers. Teraco’s physical interconnect cabling system allows for rapid and direct access to potentially valuable business partners within the Teraco Data Centre community, such as content providers, backup/disaster recovery operations and Application Service Providers.
