Telehouse Celebrates Opening of Docklands Data Center
Date: May 31, 2010WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- UK IT infrastructure services provider Telehouse (www.telehouse.com) announced on Friday it celebrated the opening of its new Telehouse West data center in Docklands, London, UK.
The $120 million data center officially opened to customers last month, with 62,336 square feet of secure data center services and 40MVA of power.
The launch event was hosted by BBC breakfast's Bill Turnbull and included speeches from Telehouse Europe managed director Tokuji Mitsui, KIDDI vice president Yuzo Ishikawa, Minister of the Embassy of Japan in the United Kingdom Hiroshi Oka and Egg co-founder Mike Harris.
A traditional Japanese sake ceremony followed the presenters, where attendees talked and drank sake.
The facility's customers Ioka, Daiwa Capital Markets, Hitachi, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Verizon and T-Systems were all on hand, as were senior representatives from data center operations around the world, including the executive team from Teraco Data Environments.
