Tier1 Research extends vote of confidence in Teraco

Featuring the launch announcement of Teraco Data Environments in his Tier1 Report, Jeff Paschke, a senior research analyst covering datacenters, said carrierneutral datacenter facilities such as Teraco's new datacenter in Cape Town will provide customers with some of the first opportunities to see the lower prices that result from increased competition between telecommunications providers.
Competition for telecommunications services in South Africa has only just begun, with recent legislation that has lowered many restrictions on companies wishing to provide telecommunications services. T1R believes competition will bring lower telecommunications prices to South Africa. A carrier neutral datacenter in South Africa is a significant accomplishment and really only possible recently, he said.
